The Orheiul Vechi Museum Complex is located in the Răut River valley, a right tributary of the Dniester, in the commune of Trebujeni, Orhei district, Republic of Moldova. The Orheiul Vechi Cultural-Natural Reserve holds a special status as the most significant cultural site in Moldova and is currently undergoing the nomination process for inclusion in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

The medieval town of Orhei (13th–16th centuries): The ruins of the settlement, later named Orheiul Vechi, feature remnants of fortifications, dwellings, baths, and religious structures, including cave monasteries from the Tatar-Mongol and Moldavian periods.

Main and adjacent promontories: The areas of Peștere, Butuceni, Potarca, Selitra, and Scoc host significant archaeological sites.
